Psychotherapy Associate, Center for the Psychology of Women, Los Angeles, CA

Psychotherapy Associate

Posted on: March 11, 2013
Posted by: The Center for the Psychology of Women

DESCRIPTION
The Center for the Psychology of Women is currently hiring a part-time licensed therapist with interest and experience in women's mental health. (Psychotherapy Associates at the Center must hold a Master's level degree and CA license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.) The Center is a small, progressive agency based in metropolitan Los Angeles; we offer therapy as well as psychiatry primarily to women, but also to men, couples, families, and youth. It's a place where clinical independence is encouraged and fostered. Center policies and protocol (from medical benefits to clinical flexibility) are designed to support the therapists that support the clients! To learn more about the Center's mission, please visit www.psychologyofwomen.com/careers

At the Center for the Psychology of Women, we believe in allowing (and trusting!) clinicians to do what they're best at: being a therapist. Our support staff and independence from insurance help each therapist focus on clinical work, not paperwork. The Center has high-functioning clients and is not dependent on insurance, so there's no need to worry about billing, pre-authorizations, reimbursements, or not getting paid for your work. (The only paperwork you'll need to take care of are your session notes!) Finally, there is no responsibility to bring your own clients or to market yourself.

The position of Psychotherapy Associate pays $25.50 per hour to start. (Eligibility for medical benefits begins at 90 days.) Your hours per week will build over two to three months as your caseload increases. You will start with two shifts, then move to three; during this time, your shifts may not be entirely filled. After that time, each therapist will see an average of about 15 clients per week. You are required to be at the Center 15 minutes before your first appointment (whatever time that is) and you may leave after your last appointment for the day ends. You will be compensated for any last minute cancellations or gaps between clients.

The Center is looking for someone who can fill three of the following six shifts, starting as soon as possible. You will have a 30 minute lunch/dinner break in each shift lasting 5 or more hours. Please let us know which three (or more) you would be available for:

Daytime: (1) Monday 8:45am-3:30pm, (2) Tuesday 8:45am-3:30pm, (3) Wednesday 8:45am-3:30pm

Evening: (4) Monday 3:45pm-9:30pm, (5) Tuesday 3:45pm-9:30pm, (6) Wednesday 3:45pm-9:30pm

HOW TO APPLY
If you believe the Center would be a good fit for you clinically and professionally, please email your cover letter and resume to center@psychologyofwomen.com. In your cover letter, please make sure to explain why you feel you would be a good match for this open position. We receive a considerable amount of applications, so please be aware that there may be some delay in following up. Please no calls--we will certainly get in touch with you.
