We are looking for a law graduate with at least 2-3 years relevant experience with organizing and conducting trainings in rural contexts. Familiarity with debates relating to sexuality and violence against women is necessary, as is fluency in Hindi and English. The candidate must be a self-starter, with leadership, capacity to plan, keep timelines, implement with a team and willingness to commit 2 years.

Partners for Law in Development (PLD) - is a legal resource group working in the fields of social justice and women's rights in India. Founded in 1998, the organization locates women's rights as integral component of social justice, engaging with it in contexts of sexuality, culture, caste, conflict and development. We promote implementation of rights through - capacity development, advocacy and production of knowledge. We work in partnerships with community and state level organisations, national and regional organisations, donors and UN agencies as well as the government. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have demonstrated capacities in planning and conducting training workshops. Key qualifications include:

1. A law degree is essential. Advanced qualification in law or relevant social sciences is desirable but not necessary.
2. Knowledge of the laws on sexual violence is essential for this job. Familiarity with feminist and human rights debates in India is desirable.
3. Fluency in written and spoken Hindi and English essential. Fluency in Hindi is essential for conducting trainings as well as for communicating with field partners.
4. Demonstrated experience with creating training modules and conducting trainings.
5. A self-starter with leadership and initiative, with capacity plan ahead, keep to time lines, ensure outputs and prepare reports.
6. A team player with good inter-personal skills capable of consultative processes.

JOB PROFILE/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will plan, organize and conduct trainings on the laws relating to sexual violence (Criminal Law Amendment Act 2013), sexual harassment at the workplace and the protection of children from sexual offences. Knowledge of the substantive and procedural aspects of the three laws on sexual violence is essential. She will contribute to the organizational work, prepare reports, make presentations, co-ordinate with stakeholders, including government and donor agencies as well as field partners.

SALARY

Salary and benefits are comparable to the non-profit sector; and commensurate with experience and internal equity.

The position of research and advocacy officer requires a candidate with at least 3-4 years of experience in the area of women's rights and law to undertake research and to translate the research into advocacy agenda for policy reform. Thematic familiarity with debates relating to sexuality and violence against women is necessary. Familiarity with relevant developments in human rights law, particularly the CEDAW, will be desirable.

JOB PROFILE/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will undertake research, status papers, submissions for monitoring and advocacy purposes. The job requires commenting on judgments and law reform proposals, presenting opinions/ critiques of legal developments from a feminist and human rights standpoints on behalf of PLD. It will require simple and complex writing styles to communicate with diverse stakeholders. The candidate will have to support organizational and programme work as necessary, prepare reports, and engage with other dimensions of PLDs work.

Girls Inc. of NYC seeks a dedicated and inspired team member who is committed to creating positive and supportive spaces for middle school girls in an after school setting. The successful Part-Time Program Specialist candidate will possess the following skills; ability to relationship build with middle school girls; facilitate in an engaging, creative and supportive way; ability to incorporate youth development and community building in curriculum design; have a keen awareness of and celebrate the vast cultural experiences of New York City girls. Responsibilities will also include implementing Girls Inc. curriculum, modifying and developing activities that are in line with the Girls Inc. mission.

NATURE OF POSITION

Program Specialist is responsible for delivering programming five days per week in Girls Inc. of NYC after-school programs. Girls Inc. of NYC after school programs foster and develop girls' overall wellness. Girls take advantage of opportunities to grow, define personal goals, and embark on their own journeys. Through unique and intentional programs, girls have opportunities to explore and advance in all areas of their lives. Girls Inc of NYC serves middle school girls after school at The Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young Women in Downtown Brooklyn.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Position requires flexibility, creativity, organization, energy and passion for inspiring girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
• Minimum of 2 years experience facilitating for middle school youth for Program Specialist positions working with middle school students is required.
• A self-starter with the ability to work as a team player and foster cooperative work.
• Ability to communicate and relationship build with youth, parents, community leaders, and school staff.
• Background in partnering with schools, experiential learning and group facilitation with youth is a must.
• Ability to facilitate Girls Inc. direct service programs with groups of 15-20 girls in grades 6-8.
• Experience facilitating programs in one or more of our Girls Inc. areas of focus.
• Ability to develop lesson plans and modify curriculum.
• Ability to identify needs and develop relevant activities for after school setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills that follow youth development principles.
• Experience working in single-sex, gender equity programs is preferred.
• Ability to set up space for girls that challenges gender stereotypes and is LGBTQ-inclusive.
• High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or some college degree preferred in education or psychology or related field.
• Reliable, timely, ability to receive and provide feedback in a constructive way.
• Requires a minimum commitment of one school year.
• Support and attend special events and family celebrations.
• Additional duties as required.

HOURS: Program Specialist is eligible for 20-22 hours of work per week. Program Specialist is responsible for delivering programs 5 days per week; must be available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 2-6pm and Tuesday 1:00-6:00pm.

SALARY: $18/hour
