The Domestic Violence and Child Welfare Specialist is responsible for the successful coordination and implementation of FCADV's child welfare programs and must have experience in the intersection of domestic violence and child welfare; including the dependency process. An experienced candidate who has worked in a certified domestic violence center/shelter in Florida is preferred. The candidate will possess advanced communication skills, written and oral, and is capable of addressing small and large groups of individuals. The candidate must possess skills that allow for working independently and as a team member. Computer literacy is a requirement as is the ability to design and implement PowerPoint presentations.

This job is based in Tallahassee, Florida and requires extensive in-state and limited national travel.

The Domestic Violence and Child Welfare Specialist possesses, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree and two years' experience delivering direct services in a domestic violence center/shelter, or a high school/equivalency diploma and four years experience delivering direct services in a domestic violence center/shelter. The candidate will have a minimum two years experience as a trainer. The candidate must have a strong understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the Battered Women's Movement and knowledge of the feminist analysis of battering, as well as the dynamics of domestic violence, knowledge of root causes of violence against women and oppressed groups.
