Promundo-US, an international non-governmental organization dedicated to gender equality and violence prevention, seeks a full-time Program Officer. 
DUTIES
  • Providing technical assistance to Promundo-US international projects (both programs and research)
  • Managing Promundo-US work in North and South Kivu (DRC) that addresses the trauma associated with conflict and promotes equitable, nonviolent paths to healing for individuals, families and communities
  • Carrying out program evaluation and formative research with partners in various settings in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, the Balkans, and Asia
  • Monitoring project implementation to ensure that activities proceed along the agreed timetable, and results are being documented
  • Developing, managing and monitoring budgets and expenses related to the project to ensure that activities remain within budget
  • Developing proposals and reports for funders
  • Organizing and implementing training workshops in the use of Promundo's methodologies and approaches
  • Presenting Promundo's work at seminars and events globally.
ABOUT PROMUNDO
Founded in Brazil in 1997, Promundo works internationally to engage men and boys in advancing gender equality and preventing violence. Promundo's independently registered NGOs in the US, Brazil and Portugal collaborate to conduct high-quality formative, population-based research; develop and conduct impact evaluations, scale-up gender transformative interventions; and carry out national and international advocacy to achieve gender equality and prevent violence. Promundo also serves as global co-Chair and Latin American coordinator of the MenEngage Alliance, a global network of NGOs and UN agencies working to engage men and boys in gender equality.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in a relevant field

TechWomen empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Africa and the Middle East by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.
The Program Officer will support the TechWomen team in managing projects and leading communications efforts. This individual will lead and manage our communications strategy, with special focus on relaying the program's impact to stakeholders and a broader audience. The Program Officer will also manage and support M&E, draft State Department reports, and be the main point of contact for TechWomen participants. In this role, the Program Officer will also lead the effort in creating pre-departure materials to help the participants understand the objectives of the program and acclimate to the Bay Area. Work is carried out independently under general supervision.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Communications & Administration
•Work with the team to develop communications plan. Plan includes the creation and production of materials, presentations, social media planning, media relations and presentation development.
•Post to social media channels, write and edit blog posts and assist with website updates, as needed.
•Oversee Program Associate's social media plan implementation by reviewing posts and tweets and ensuring adherence to timeline and content.
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
•Track and analyze program progress against key indicators and advise on areas of opportunity.
•Develop easy to use monitoring and data collection tools as necessary.
•Prepare impact reports and presentations for sponsors and general program updates.
•Draft and submit sponsor reports.
Participant and Program Management
•Lead and communicate with Selection Committee members, organize committees, review and prepare materials and applications, facilitate committees and prepare lists for US Embassies in 21 countries.
•Support TechWomen participants in preparation for their time in the US and as needed post-program. This includes email communications, webinars, pre-departure and orientation materials and preparations.
•Conduct outreach in 21 countries to recruit new program applicants. This includes social media outreach planning, email communications, identifying and communicating with outreach partners in Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East. Create region and country specific outreach materials and manage translation projects, as needed.
•Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures.
•Perform other related duties and functions as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•Undergraduate degree in related field, and at least 2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
•Program management experience including budgeting, maintaining client relationships, and delegating tasks and responsibilities in a complex, deadline-oriented environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILTIES
•Experience working on projects involving complex details requiring well-developed organizational, time-management and administrative skills.
•Proven experience with web-based and social media platforms.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The Global Fund for Women is an international grant making foundation that supports groups working to advance the human rights of women and girls. Since 1988, the Global Fund has granted over $100 million to more than 4,400 women's groups in 174 countries.

JOB SUMMARY

The Program Officer, Learning, Evaluation, & Impact works closely with the Director of Learning, Evaluation, & Impact to advance the Global Fund for Women's (GFW) understanding of its impact, to promote ongoing learning and response, and to support efforts to communicate results externally. This position supports the development and implementation of an organization-wide learning, evaluation, and impact framework for the Global Fund including designing data collection plans and tools, analyzing and producing findings, assisting grantee partners to strengthen their evaluation capacity and sharing findings with Global Fund staff, grantees, advisors and other key audiences. The Program Officer, Learning, Evaluation, & Impact also assists in designing and implementing evaluations of specific portfolios of grantees and participates in cross-team projects to provide research and evaluation support.

LOCATION

This position will be located in either San Francisco or New York City. Candidates must be eligible to work legally in the US and willing to relocate.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Development and implementation of an organization-wide LEI framework
  • Assist in developing and implementing an LEI framework for the Global Fund for Women that includes detailed theories of change for the key program focus areas, priority learning and evaluation questions, indicators for progress and outcomes and data collection plans and tools
  • Work with Program, Grants Operation, and Information Management teams to refine application and reporting forms and processes
  • Compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from various sources
  • Prepare reports for internal and external audiences, including using data visualization to illustrate findings
  • Provide support to grantees in their efforts to evaluate their work
Evaluations of specific portfolios
  • Assist in the design and implementation of evaluation plans for specific portfolios of grantees. This including portfolios focusing on women's economic and political empowerment, sexual and reproductive health and rights, ending gender based violence and women's and girls' leadership development, among others.
  • Coordinate with Program and Grants Operations staff to conduct non-standard data collection from grantees, including mid-term reporting, surveys, site visits, etc.
  • Compile and analyze data, and prepare reports for specific portfolios and other major grants, on request
  • Participate in grantee partner and advisor convenings as required
Research & Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Support research and writing of progress and impact reports
  • Coordinate with, and provide, in-house research and data analysis support to external evaluation consultants
  • Organize learning meetings to share findings with GFW staff, grantees, advisors, and other key audiences
  • Provide evaluation support to Program staff, as well as other teams, as appropriate
  • Assist in preparation of briefing papers, presentation in conferences, workshops and/or webinars on evaluation and learning related topics
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evaluation/research design and methodology
  • Experience in designing evaluation plans and systems with not-for-profit organizations and foundations, including developing theories of change or logic models
  • Proven skills in developing quantitative and qualitative research tools for data collection
  • Proven skills in data collection, including administering surveys, conducting and documenting interviews and focus groups
  • Proven skills in analyzing quantitative (via SPSS) and qualitative data, and writing evaluation reports and final products

JOB SUMMARY
