The Womanity Foundation is looking for a project manager to coordinate Womanity’s support to Award winners 2014, as well as prepare and run the future editions of the Award.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
The Womanity Award addresses violence against women by identifying innovative ways to reduce such violence, and by increasing their impact through their replication in other contexts. Hence, the Womanity Foundation strategically partners with an organization that has developed a program that effectively reduces violence against women, called the “Innovation Partner”, and then supports its local adaptation, implementation and expansion through an organisation acting as a “Scale-Up Partner”. The Womanity Award serves as the platform to identify innovative solutions and “Innovation Partners” and “Scale-Up Partners” interested and capable of replicating the model; and to coordinate partners willing to support the process with their expertise, professional contributions and funding. 
The Womanity Foundation is looking for a project manager to coordinate Womanity’s support to Award winners 2014, as well as prepare and run the future editions of the Award. 

OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES
  • Lead the selection process of the Womanity Award (next selection process to be launched in September 2015), including the creation of the necessary guidelines and tools (application forms, etc.); recruitment and coordination of a selection panel/jury; drafting of evaluation criteria for the selection of Innovation and Scale-Up Partners; proactive search and identification of potential partners based on the verified and documented impact of their model in reducing violence against women; call for nominations/applications and evaluation of award applicants.
  • Map and recruit co-funding and co-branding partner(s) for the Womanity Award and manage the relationships. 
  • Plan and organise the award ceremony.
  • Conclude the partnership agreement with Award winners, assess needs for support, define timeline and workplan, and oversee partnership implementation.
  • Map, recruit and manage professional program partners who will deliver professional support to the innovation and scale-up partners for the replication of the chosen solution.
  • Manage the implementation of the award (currently the project being implemented with Award winners 2014) with the innovation/scale-up/professional program partners and sponsors, and work on the adaptation and replication process.
  • Develop a communications plan and materials for the Womanity Award and disseminate them to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Supervise the monitoring and evaluation of the Womanity Award’s organisation and implementation; document the impact achieved via the Award.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Dynamic and efficient project manager with demonstrated experience in successfully designing and implementing complex social projects, as well as carrying out program development, assessments and evaluations.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced expert in the field of women’s rights and the reduction of violence against women, with an authoritative network of connections and a proven track record in the field. 
  • Creative partnership broker with strong negotiation and communications skills and a talent for building fruitful relationships between social, corporate, academic and other actors.
  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial facilitator, capable of driving the collaboration between social actors and their professional partners towards the realization of their common objective.
  • Experience in event planning and organisation.
  • Fluency and analytical writing skills in English. Proficiency in the use of standard ITC tools. 
Duration: Minimum two year commitment (renewable), at a rate of minimum 24 hours to maximum 32 hours weekly (60 to 80% FTE)
Start date: February 2015
Travel Availability: National and international travel required.

OVERVIEW

The Executive Director (ED) is the organization's chief operating officer, leading the agency's clinical and administrative staff in fulfilling SHALVA's mission with a strategic vision. The ideal candidate will have managerial experience at a directorship level with strong fundraising, relationship building and communication skills. Knowledge of the Chicago Jewish community, cultivation of donor and board relationships and an ability to manage multiple constituencies are also critical characteristics of a successful ED candidate.

HISTORY
 
Founded on the principle that every Jewish woman has the right to be safe in her personal relationship with her partner, SHALVA's mission is to address domestic abuse in Jewish homes and relationships through counseling and education. Rooted in Jewish values and founded in 1986, the agency provides free domestic abuse crisis-counseling for adult women in the Chicago Jewish community. SHALVA is the oldest independent Jewish domestic abuse agency in the United States and has been instrumental in facilitating national and international dialogues on the specific needs of Jewish families experiencing domestic violence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development, Outreach and Community Relations: Oversee all staff and board fundraising efforts toward a $700,000 annual goal, including major gift development, foundation relations, corporate giving, event planning and donor cultivation. Establish and steward relationships with key donors and prospects. Serve as primary agency spokesperson and liaison to partner organizations and community groups, build new collaborative relationships, and provide strategic vision to development and outreach planning.

Administration and Human Resources: Hire, supervise and evaluate staff. Work with the Board and staff to develop and monitor the annual budget. Oversee daily office operations and identify opportunities for greater efficiency. Guide and implement policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors and support professional/volunteer development.

Board Administration and Support: Work in partnership with Board leadership to support Board initiatives and develop members as agency leaders. Keep Board members advised of all key agency happenings. Assist in the cultivation of new Board leadership and provide resources toward the education and training of new and returning Board members.

Program/Service Delivery and Communications: Oversee the design, promotion and quality of programs and services delivered to SHALVA clients and volunteers. Work with board and staff members to develop communications plan and promotional/educational materials.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of managerial experience at a directorship level, preferably within a nonprofit organization
  • Proven track record of fundraising success
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Basic understanding of Jewish culture and traditions
Expertise in several of the following areas:
  • Strategic and campaign planning
  • Social service delivery
  • Community relations
  • Jewish communal administration; board development
  • Communications planning
  • Working knowledge of information technology
Salary range: 75,000 - 95,000

JOB SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator position functions within the Living Beauty team to perform a variety of program development and administrative duties. The Program Coordinator oversees the coordination and administration of all programs including planning, organizing, and controlling program activities; public relations development through community education, involvement and support.
MISSION
The mission of The Foundation for Living Beauty is to empower women to increase their self-esteem, physical wellness, and emotional stability while coping with the taxing affects of cancer and chemotherapy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Coordinator performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
Program Development
  • Commitment to the values expressed in the mission of The Foundation for Living Beauty and demonstrates behavior consistent with those values
  • Plan the delivery of overall programs and activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization, including retreats, sisterhood day programs and fundraising efforts
  • Manage a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the programs and to identify areas for improvement
  • Report evaluation findings to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
  • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct event evaluations according to the program evaluation framework
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Develop forms and records to document program activities
  • Maintain website information for upcoming programs and events
  • Maintain online social media posts, event promotion and photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
  • Test online event registration for website before promotion to clients
  • Assist in engaging volunteers for appropriate program activities using established volunteer management practices
  • Communicate with participants and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program
  • Liaise with managers to ensure effective and efficient program delivery
Outreach
  • Support the Outreach Coordinator's program for social worker outreach
  • Establish community support for discounted lodging, equipment and other benefits
  • Develop press releases, brochures and other public relation materials
  • Contact a broad spectrum of promotional outlets, print, electronic and social media to establish a strong support coalition
  • Provide public presentations and demonstrations to potential support groups
Financial
  • Assist in developing funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services
  • Ensure that programs operate within the approved budget
  • Monitor all budgeted program expenditures
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the program are up to date
Other
  • Ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness through in-kind donations and volunteers
  • Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as directed

DESCRIPTION

Since 1978, RAVEN has worked to end violence against women and children in the St. Louis area. In our work with both adults and youth, RAVEN seeks to foster peaceful relationships, families, and communities, by increasing self-awareness, challenging abuse and control, teaching alternative behaviors and promoting personal responsibility. This year marks RAVEN's 35th year of providing non-violence education. RAVEN is the third oldest program of its kind in the United States.

RAVEN's committed staff and volunteers work with groups of men and young people to assist them in making non-violent decisions in their lives. We do this through the following pro-feminist based programming:
  1. Adult Non-Violence Education (Batterer Intervention)
  2. Youth Violence Prevention and Intervention
  3. Community Outreach and Education
RAVEN is currently seeking a skilled professional with a passion for social change to fill the role of Executive Director.

REQUIREMENTS

A Masters degree with a minimum of five to seven years of full-time work experience in domestic or sexual violence prevention/intervention, social services, criminal justice, social justice or closely-related areas. Experience will include a progression in responsibilities, with at least one year in a management or leadership position supervising staff and volunteers. Competency will have been demonstrated in the following areas: budgeting and financial management; information technology (Microsoft Office, Internet, and social media); writing skills; and a strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence. The Executive Director will be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

SUMMARY

Responsible for the management and operations of the agency including program planning, program development, fundraising and management of a small staff, interns and volunteers. The Executive Director also oversees the day-to-day operation of the agency including finance, accounting, and safety. The individual in this role will communicate and collaborate effectively with the local community regarding the issues related to RAVEN's mission.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Fundraising
  • Responsible for securing financial resources to ensure stability of the organization
  • Grant writing and private donor development
Operations Management
  • Allocate and manage staff, facilitators and volunteers to achieve program objectives.
  • Supervise, directly or indirectly, all RAVEN staff, encouraging education and development at all levels.
  • Maintain policies and manuals for RAVEN and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop annual budget and assure sound fiscal management practices.
  • Oversee the development and operation of a management information system that supports financial management and tracks client progress, informs program operations and serves as a basis for program and financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Represent RAVEN and establish collaborative relationships within the violence prevention network in St. Louis and Missouri, with funders, and with community stakeholders
  • Develop, monitor, and ensure compliance with program policies and professional and ethical standards to maintain high levels of quality services throughout the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a welcoming environment for program participants and volunteers.

Program Development
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing programs and practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships and provide timely reporting with existing funders and investors.
  • Seek out new partners to improve program effectiveness and leverage resources.
  • Identify new ways to increase program income.
  • Develop new programs and services that build the capacity and competency of sector stakeholders to prevent and end violence.
  • Continuously seek out new operational and program support from individuals, corporations, foundations and local, state and national funding sources.
Community Leadership and Governance
  • Prepare monthly report to Board of Directors on financial and program status of RAVEN.
  • Provide strong leadership and vision/motivation to staff and volunteers.
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings, collaborating with the President to provide leadership at the meetings.
  • Work with existing board members to create meaningful roles for them to participate and contribute to RAVEN as an organization and/or as a program.
  • Work with the Board to identify new board members that reflect the program and its customers/clients.
  • Seek out opportunities to speak at community and professional forums to raise the visibility of RAVEN in the community; act as spokesperson representing RAVEN to the public, media and other outside organizations.
