Job Summary: The Field Organizing Manager position is dedicated to building broad-based support for reproductive justice. The focus is on building relationships with groups and individuals; training and motivating activists; and increasing our member and activist base.
Reports to: Director of Field Operations
Responsibilities:
- Expand and strengthen our RCRC network
- Build sustainable relationships with existing networks and recruit new activists
- Ensure that all projects and campaigns in the field reflect RCRC's mission of achieving reproductive justice with special attention to marginalized communities
- Develop and execute work plan to ensure that networks including Seminarians for Choice and Clergy for Choice are operating at optimal level
- Develop activists' skills and leadership through trainings
- Identify pastoral care and counseling opportunities within RCRC networks as well as throughout the reproductive health community
- Coordinate and provide assistance to affiliates and grassroots networks to help develop and maintain clergy and lay leader participation
- In dialogue with the Public Policy Manager, maintain knowledge of reproductive justice issues and activities at the state and local level
- Organize in-district meetings and community events, recruit hosts and participants, and prepare and facilitate presentations
- Coordinate and maintain regular contact with key activists and coalition partners
- Develop working relationship with local and state elected officials in coordination with Public Policy Department
- Represent RCRC at meetings and conferences including denominational, faith-based and secular events
- Conduct research and development for effective training and mobilization of clergy and lay leaders
Job Qualifications:
- At least two to three years of grassroots organizing or related experience
- Commitment to protecting reproductive health, reproductive rights, and advancing reproductive justice
- Experience working with religious communities
- Excellent leadership development skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- A strong self-starter, good sense of humor and team player
- Comfortable with technology and social media outlets
- Theological training a plus
Salary:
Salary commensurate with experience. It includes health insurance, dental insurance, and other competitive benefits.
