Brief Summary
SAFE NEST, providing services to survivors of domestic violence and their families seeks a Housing Outreach Advocate to provide advocacy services to domestic violence victims and survivors residing in public housing properties administered by Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.Qualifications
- Knowledge of domestic violence and factors related to poverty and homelessness.
- Understanding of empowerment, basic advocacy strategies and barriers to public housing residents seeking domestic violence services.
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services fields including Women's Studies, Social Work, Sociology or related field or any equivalent combination of experience and education
- Ability to build relationships and work in a collaboration setting.
- Ability to work in varied locations with diverse populations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in building effective collaborative community relationships to achieve common goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically and engage diverse groups of people including community stakeholders, domestic violence survivors and their allies.
- A minimum of four years volunteer or professional experience in a field relative to the position
