Responsibilities - Essential FunctionsThe Women and Gender Studies Program offers the BA and BS degrees, as well as a minor, and deliberately bridges the social sciences and humanities. Faculty teach six courses per year, including Introduction to Gender and advanced courses reflecting both the candidate's expertise and the needs of the Program. All faculty advise and mentor students, while maintaining an active record of research and publication. We value activism and social justice and have a strong commitment to service learning.  
Responsibilities - Non-essential Functions 
Required Qualifications and Education-Ph. D. completed by August 2013 for appointment as assistant professor
-Evidence of excellence in teaching is essential
-Potential for a productive research program in areas related directly to women/gender studies is essential  
Preferred Qualifications and Education-Ability to teach interdisciplinary feminist methodology and feminist and queer theory
-Experience teaching diversity
-Experience with advising undergraduates
-Experience teaching and advising undergraduate research
