Description:Women Thrive Worldwide, one of the most effective advocacy organizations working on global poverty and women?s issues, seeks a Director to lead our Learning for All Campaign. The primary goal of the campaign is to secure a Sustainable Development Goal on learning as part of the post-2015 Millennium Development Goals process of the United Nations. This is a rare opening for a visible leadership position for a passionate, creative and talented advocate. The director reports to the Vice President, Policy and Government Affairs and will also work closely with the organization?s co-founder and president, Ritu Sharma.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Working with the Vice President, Policy and Government Affairs, the Director of the Learning for All Campaign brings the leadership, strategic thinking, political, coalition building, and organizational skills necessary
-Set long and short-term advocacy goals, and problem solve and implement tactics to achieve the goals. This includes managing a work plan, budget, staff, consultants and/or interns, tracking progress, and course correcting.
-Lead, build and manage a broad-based coalition across a variety of stakeholders from the global north and south to create awareness, credibility and support for policy goals.
-Foster and manage relationships with policymakers and provide policy recommendations to achieve short and long term goals.
-Represent Women Thrive before policy makers, in coalitions, with other organizations and publicly.
-Manage policy-related event planning, research and writing, including the production of advocacy materials.
-Work closely with the Global Partnerships team to keep southern advocates and stakeholders engaged and participating in the campaign.
-Work closely with the Communications and Outreach teams on campaign activities.
-Support the Vice Presidents of Policy and Government Affairs and Organizational Advancement in donor reporting, proposal writing and relationship management.
-Work collaboratively to raise funds from foundation, corporate and individual donors for the organization and campaign.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this position will have:
-A Bachelors and/or Masters degree in a field related to global development, preferably in education.
-At least 6 years of experience overall and at least 3 years directly in advocacy on international education issues. Please note that candidates with no prior advocacy experience will not be considered for this senior level position.
-Experience with advocacy campaigning and coalition management.
-Fluency in English as well as either French, Spanish, or Portuguese.
-Current status to legally work in the United States. Please note that we are not able to sponsor work visas for potential candidates.
