Refugee Women's Alliance (ReWA) is a nationally recognized multi-ethnic nonprofit organization that provides award-winning services to refugee and immigrant women and their families in King and Snohomish Counties. (www.rewa.org)
ReWA currently has an immediate opening for a Development and Events Associate. This full-time benefited position is responsible for managing donor related activities and the agency’s overall communications function including the annual report, newsletters and website. This position is also responsible for ReWA’s annual gala and other celebratory and recognition events that promote, maintain and nurture the agency’s relationships with the community, its stakeholders, sponsors and donors.

JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage donor database.
- Create and oversee implementation of annual fund mailing schedule.
- Develop, manage and coordinate activities to reach existing and new donors.
- Track and report on success of solicitation strategies.
- Assist program Directors in developing strategies for communicating program accomplishments with stakeholders.
- Responsible for acknowledgement of all donations.
- Develop and ensure consistency in messaging and branding in both internal and external communications by providing editorial, style and delivery assistance to staff and stakeholders
- Develop effective outreach materials for staff to conduct program outreach.
- Create and develop quality annual report, bi-annual newsletters, monthly e-newsletters, flyers, brochures and outreach materials.
- Provide direction for ReWA’s website structure, ensuring that new information is regularly added to the site.
- Manage communication files including photo, audio and video management and news clippings.
- Work primarily with the Executive Director, Annual Gala Committee and staff to set fundraising goals and planning for the agency’s annual gala.
- Oversee design, printing and distribution of informational materials targeted to achieving attendance goals.
- Research and secure sponsorships and in-kind donations for the annual gala.
- Oversee annual fundraising event budget.
- Update and maintenance of ReWA’s social media sites, including Facebook page.
- Site procurement and coordination; serve as primary contact for event venue.
- Enlist, assign and oversee volunteers for event planning assistance, preparation, actual event, and event wrap-up.
- Organize, publicize, and coordinate agency’s events, including Programs’ events.
- Coordinate other fundraising activities such as house parties.
- In collaboration with management and staff, plan and implement the annual International Women’s Day.
- Responsible for coordination and implementation of the annual Refugee and Immigrant Legislative Day.
- Attend program and staff meetings and training.
- Other related duties as assigned by Executive Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Three years’ experience in donor management and event planning.
- Proven ability in composing quality written materials, including newsletters and annual report.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent research capabilities.
- Proven experience in web-site management.
- Experience working with major and individual donors, special events, marketing and media.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office and Web competency.
- Must be a self–starter, motivator and implementer with excellent leadership, teambuilding, and team ethics.
- Creative problem-solving and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and highly organized.
- Strong desire to grow in the development field.
- Experience in graphic design and layout a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to refugee and immigrant advocacy.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed including some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work in a multiethnic environment; sensitivity to and respect for diverse cultures.
- Ability to work effectively with Board members, staff, and volunteers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
