Website Associate-American Association of University Women- DC

Job Title: Website Associate
Organization: American Association of University Women (AAUW)
Region: DC Metro Region
Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Assist with the redesign of AAUW.org and related microsites and the migration of existing content to the WordPress platform.

Make routine, daily website updates.

Work with online contributors to post content and update or archive outdated pages.

Ensure that digital content -- text, images, and video � is compliant with AAUW guidelines including tagging.

Follow best practices in deploying new content to maximize its findability.

Maintain document library and ensure access to materials.

Provide editorial guidance to help contributors optimize content for online search.

Assist with training and support of online contributors regarding content management and applications.

Ensure that web content is cross-marketed across communications channels.

Write articles, blog posts, and updates for other social channels.

Convert e-marketing content to HTML and send e- mail blasts to internal and external audiences using Lyris Listmanager. Adhere to established standards for mobile, e-mail clients, and browser compatibility. Analyze and report on results to improve performance.

Perform other technical and site administration duties as required and assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

A minimum of two years' professional experience in website production.

Working knowledge of web, social media, and e-mail standards and innovative practices that
address the needs of a variety of web and technology users.
Proven experience writing for the web.

Proficient in hand coding HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other client-based technologies.

Experience with Photoshop and other graphics tools.

Experience with digital photography and videography desired but not essential.

WordPress experience desired.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and PC working environments.

General understanding of web content management

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to multitask, plan and meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.

Interest in women's issues and programs that promote equity and education for women and girls.
