ABOUT THE AGENCY
Health Imperatives is a non-profit community-based agency, predominantly serving families and individuals in Southeastern, MA. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts. We accomplish this mission through administering both health and violence intervention and prevention programs and services.
Provide legal advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence;
Assist victims with safety planning
Explain legal process and assist victims in obtaining restraining and harassment orders;
Participate in clinical supervision
Maintain up-to-date client files, statistical data, billing information and monthly reports.
Conduct in-depth needs assessments including but not limited to; financial, legal, and mental health,substance abuse, education andemployment, health care resources and services as well as access to emergency and permanent affordable housing.
Provide supportive referrals to access resources and services.
Monitor, track and follow up with referrals.
Assist clients with skill development and/or other logistics to access resources and/or services including but not limited to; application completion, accompany clients to legal, housing or health services, transportation and educate clients on financial literacy, utility assistance and other resources.
Make home visits as needed and/or requested.
Any other duties as assigned.
Ability to maintain flexible schedule in accordance with program needs; i.e. some evenings and/or weekend emergency responses may be required.
Trauma informed care experience preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence and relationship violence.
Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance abuse.
Experience assisting clients with housing and economic stabilization barriers including legal, financial, and psychological.
Knowledge and experience or willingness to learn MA State service systems including but not limited to; Department of Housing and Community Development, Department of Transitional Assistance and the Department of Children and Families preferred;
Self starter with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or Human Services required or equivalent experience.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of program materials and supplies
SALARY: $16.00 per hour
