ABOUT THE AGENCY
Health Imperatives is a non-profit community-based agency, predominantly serving families and individuals in Southeastern, MA. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of low-income or vulnerable families and individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts. We accomplish this mission through administering both health and violence intervention and prevention programs and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide legal advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence;
- Assist victims with safety planning
- Explain legal process and assist victims in obtaining restraining and harassment orders;
- Participate in clinical supervision
- Maintain up-to-date client files, statistical data, billing information and monthly reports.
- Conduct in-depth needs assessments including but not limited to; financial, legal, and mental health,substance abuse, education andemployment, health care resources and services as well as access to emergency and permanent affordable housing.
- Provide supportive referrals to access resources and services.
- Monitor, track and follow up with referrals.
- Assist clients with skill development and/or other logistics to access resources and/or services including but not limited to; application completion, accompany clients to legal, housing or health services, transportation and educate clients on financial literacy, utility assistance and other resources.
- Make home visits as needed and/or requested.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to maintain flexible schedule in accordance with program needs; i.e. some evenings and/or weekend emergency responses may be required.
- Trauma informed care experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence and relationship violence.
- Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance abuse.
- Experience assisting clients with housing and economic stabilization barriers including legal, financial, and psychological.
- Knowledge and experience or willingness to learn MA State service systems including but not limited to; Department of Housing and Community Development, Department of Transitional Assistance and the Department of Children and Families preferred;
- Self starter with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or Human Services required or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of program materials and supplies
HOURS: Full-time
SALARY: $16.00 per hour
