JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Social Worker will demonstrate appropriate goal setting and effective practice skills in a collaborative model, serving childcare providers and parents who have enrolled in our Early Learn Program. Services will be provided in a variety of communities throughout the Bronx.

Specifically, the Licensed Social Worker will assist with the planning and implementation of the clinical aspects of the Early Learn program performing a range of clinical and administrative duties to include educational workshops (for childcare providers, staff and parents), advocacy and resource and referral services, documenting assessments, participating during intake and parent orientation and developing individualized plans that support educational and developmental needs of children.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of Director(s), provide a range of clinical and administrative duties to include educational workshops, individual and group counseling, advocacy, data collection, as well as resource and referral services.
  • Develop and maintain linkages within a network of multi-disciplinary human service organizations to include Early Intervention (EI) and Committee on Pre-School Education (CPSE) programs for the purposes of referring children for evaluations and support services for parents.
  • Work with childcare providers to learn, document and implement strategies of identifying and addressing challenges children may be experiencing. Help support parents in completing required assessment tools and assist them through the EI or CPSE referral process, as needed.
  • Provide educational workshops to staff on how to effectively understand and implement the social, emotional and mental health aspects of the Early Learn Program.
  • Provide clinical interventions as needed, in the following areas: substance abuse counseling, domestic violence, crisis intervention, and others areas that may be assigned. Where deemed necessary, make appropriate referrals to outside agencies.
  • Maintain client files on CTS and prepare reports for directors/agency as needed.
  • Attend meetings that include but are not limited to: team meetings, case conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, and regularly scheduled supervisory meetings.
  • Participate in in-house and external staff development and training activities.
  • Perform other related duties as may be requested by the supervising directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • LCSW or LMSW
  • Minimum of 1 -2 years experience
  • Knowledge of clinical services, case management and advocacy in a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
