The Center for Women and Families provides trauma-informed advocacy and support for individuals, families and entire communities affected by intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We mitigate the impact of trauma by building resiliency and reducing risk factors at all levels. We are guided by a strong grassroots history, feminist history, a commitment to social justice, a focus on prevention and a vision of creating a world without violence.
Overview of Responsibilities
The Director of Children and Family Services will provide strategic direction, oversight and supervision of our Kentucky and Indiana residential client services. The Director will ensure best practices of children, youth and family services across all departments and function as a key member of the Senior Leadership team. The Director will supervise the development, implementation, and evaluation of residential client services and children's services across the organization and ensure that client services work toward reducing clients' risk factors, increasing protective factors, and mitigating the effects of trauma. The Director will ensure the shelter environment and direct service delivery is in line with Trauma Informed Care principles for children and families exposed to violence. The Director will collaborate and coordinate with appropriate staff to develop and oversee program outcomes and evaluation, grants, HR needs, and budgets. The Director will participate in the development of departmental budgets and manage approved budgets each fiscal year.
Position Requirements
The position requires someone with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field. A clinical license is also required. Experience in residential settings is required, and additional experience in community-based or in-home settings is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with children, youth and families is also required, along with 2 years of supervisory experience. The position requires someone with a strong working understanding of Trauma Informed Care principles.

The Women's Law Center of Maryland, Inc. (WLC) is a feminist, non-profit membership organization committed to assuring equal rights for women. The MEDOVI Project provides free immigration legal services to Maryland residents who are foreign-born victims of domestic violence, human sex trafficking, intimate partner stalking and/or sexual assault.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Conduct in-depth client intake interviews with foreign-born victims of domestic violence, primarily from the Spanish-speaking community but throughout the world, to prepare applications for VAWA Self-Petition cases, U-Visa cases, and T-Visa cases, among others.
  2. Provide information to foreign-born victims of domestic violence about legal remedies and resources, including information about the immigration process and the availability of Protective Orders.
  3. Provide information to Spanish-speaking and foreign-born victims of domestic violence about available community services and agencies. Provide follow-up services and referrals to clients.
  4. Conduct community outreach and education in the Spanish-speaking community and other foreign-born communities regarding legal options available for victims of domestic violence within those communities.
  5. Give presentations on MEDOVI's immigration services.
  6. Provide general support to Project Director in case management duties and responsibilities.
  7. Translate various documents from Spanish to English and English to Spanish, when necessary.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with service providers of all types within the Spanish-speaking community. Where applicable and as time permits, attend and participate in committees and task forces concerned with domestic violence, human sex trafficking and sexual assault.
  9. Advocate on behalf of clients with representatives of the criminal justice system and accompany clients to criminal proceedings and family law cases, when necessary.
  10. Participate in preparation of reports to grantors and requests for new funding. Maintain project files.
  11. Provide legal advocate services to Spanish-speaking POARP (Protective Order Advocacy and Representation Project) clients as need arises and resources allow.
  12. As part of the WLC team, participate in project membership and development.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION
  1. Mid to high 30s depending on experience

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must be fluent in Spanish.
  2. Experience working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault preferred.
  3. Familiarity with Maryland court systems preferred.
  4. Bachelor's Degree, JD or equivalent preferred. Education requirements may be substituted with relevant work experience.
  5. Must be committed to public service and to providing excellent legal services to all clients.
  6. Familiarity with immigration processes preferred.
  7. Must understand the issues facing foreign-born victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and have respect for the role a victim's culture and ethnicity may have on a case.
  8. Must have excellent judgment and strong interpersonal skills. Must be well organized, creative, empathetic, and people oriented.
  9. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Public speaking experience preferred.
  10. Must have demonstrated ability to handle multiple professional projects simultaneously and thoroughly without close supervision.
  11. Be able to work independently towards MEDOVI's.
  12. Must be flexible and a team player.
  13. Must have own transportation to travel throughout the state.

FUNCTION

1. Assist with coordination and delivery of crisis intervention services for both SA & DV.

4. Coordinate issues related to administration of services.
5. Represent the YWCA in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide crisis intervention and follow up services including case management and legal advocacy activities on weekends, holidays and at other times to cover for staff on vacation.
2. Participate in, as needed, initial, ongoing and system-wide training for all staff whose duties are related (direct & indirect) to crisis services.
3. Assist with administrative functions for Sexual Assault Treatment Services; facility, clerical support.
4. Provide Family Violence Shelter crisis phone coverage as required.
5. Obtain educational and promotional material for distribution via the media and brochures for clients.
6. Ensure that SANE waiting room is fully equipped with up to date materials for Relief Crisis Counselors and food/drink/clothes/toys for clients.
7. Work with program evaluation tools collecting and processing data for all reports as required.
8. Assist with establishing and maintaining liaison with community groups and agencies in order to promote SART and encourage utilization of SATP services.
9. Perform other functions as needed or assigned.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Valid driver's license, vehicle and proof of insurance.
2. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
3. Willing and able to travel around the island for meetings.
4. Willing and able to travel off-island for training and meetings.
5. Willing and able to work nights, weekends, overnights and holidays.

The PT Manager of Hotline Services (MHS) is a member of the National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) Program Team.
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the PT MHS provides leadership, direction and support to a team of Hotline Advocates and is responsible for the supervision of the day to day operations and the delivery of quality of services on the Hotline.
The PT MHS schedule is Sunday – Wednesday, 1:00 am – 6:00 am, but due to NDVH's 24/7, 365 days per year operation, hours may exceed 20 hours per week and require adjustments in work hours and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for scheduling, supervising and coaching Hotline Advocates to provide quality service and cover telephone lines 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, including weekends and holidays, and posting of schedule weekly.
  • Oversees the accuracy of all employee changes, status records, timesheets, etc.
  • Holds regular supervisory meetings and conducts at least one formal job performance evaluation per year with each Hotline Advocate on the team.
  • Participates weekly in Managers of Hotline Services meeting.
  • Provides initial orientation and on-going training for Hotline Advocates.
  • Role models of standards of conduct and workplace success factors.
  • Prepare and maintain documents and reports as required.
  • Review and process required correspondence in a timely manner, including mail, e-mail and FYI's.
  • Provide Hotline Advocates with current information, tools and guidance.
  • Compiles, analyzes, designs computer generated statistical reports and telephone data reports that show calls answered, abandonment rates and statistical averages and submits to Hotline Program team.
  • Provides any additional reports requested by the Hotline Program Team or Director.
  • Responds to incoming calls during peak call periods.
  • Provides Hotline Advocates with onsite assistance for difficult calls.
  • Handles unresolved problems between service providers and NDVH callers.
  • Develops and presents training materials.
  • Participates in personnel actions.
  • Coordinates with the Hotline Program Team on program needs and goals.
  • Apply NCFV personnel policies and procedures and all state and federal laws that pertain to the workplace.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work or other closely related field.

  • Three years of experience in direct services to victims of domestic violence or similar human services program. At least two years must be in a domestic violence or sexual assault program.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Fluency in conversational Spanish is required for 1/3 of Hotline/Advocate Supervisor positions.
  • Volunteer experience may count as work experience.
  • Ability to manage time and complete multiple activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high stress situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team member, providing support and constructive feedback in interpersonal interaction.
  • Commitment to feminist and nonviolent perspective and behavior and willingness to work in such an environment.

API Chaya formed in 2011, when the Asian & Pacific Islander Women & Family Safety Center (1993) and Chaya (1996) merged into one organization to better serve Asian, South Asian, and Pacific Islander survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes in Washington State. We are a dynamic and growing organization with a strong emphasis on mobilizing communities to find solutions to end violence.

API Chaya has grown tremendously over the last two years and is seeking a Development Manager, a newly created position. This opportunity is perfect for a dynamic, community-oriented fundraiser who is committed to social justice and wants to work within an inspirational organizational culture. This person should be an initiative-taker who can work as part of the leadership team in a fast paced work environment to plan, implement and manage fundraising activities related to growing organizational revenue.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors in planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising campaign to meet organizational revenue goals
  • Update and implement API Chaya's development plan. Take leadership in executing the plan, with a focus on securing funding from individual donors, corporations, businesses, unions and other sources.
  • Implement strategies to significantly increase and manage API Chaya's portfolio of individual donors. Conduct active prospect research, design and implement tailored individual donor solicitation and cultivation plans. Support Board in their cultivation efforts.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with current donors, sponsors, funders, and business and community leaders. Develop new prospects in each category.
  • Work in partnership with Board and volunteers to successfully implement fundraising events, including the Annual Auction & Dinner and October Birthday Celebration. Oversee implementation of event workplan. Mobilize volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Work in partnership with Board and volunteers to implement workplace giving campaigns. Build strategic relationships with corporations to maximize employee giving.
  • Develop strategies for online and social media fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent communication with all donors, including donor acknowledgements, statements, annual appeal letters, organizational updates, invitations to special events etc.
  • Manage and ensure the accurate maintenance of records and donor information in the donor database
  • Represent API Chaya by attending events in the community and make presentations, as needed
  • Provide development reports on a regular basis to Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of and a deep demonstrated commitment to working for social justice strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional fundraising experience in a non-profit
  • Experience and proven success in designing, executing, and rolling out a comprehensive fundraising plan, that includes annual giving, multi-year giving, major gifts, corporate, union, and foundation fundraising components.
  • Knowledge of development principles, fundraising strategies and ethics, and familiarity with donor tracking systems (preferably SalesForce) and online communication (preferably Vertical Response, Twitter, Facebook, and Wordpress/Joomla/SquareSpace)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and lead a small team
  • Strategic thinker with ability to manage short term and long term plans and goals, with record of achieving results.

Are you passionate about immigration and women's rights? NIWAP is seeking undergraduate and graduate students this summer to work on projects that improve services nationwide for immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and other crimes. The 15-40 hour per week internship will include an opportunity to work on the following types of projects:
  • Coordinate trainings for police and judges on immigrant victim certification in cases of immigrant crime victims and national training on immigrant victims legal rights;
  • Reaching out to Adult and Child Protective Services agencies and collecting comments on tool kits for adult protective services and child protective services staff on U-visa certification;
  • Collection of stories from the field documenting best practices and gaps in services and protections for immigrant victims of crime;
  • Distribute materials and information developed by NIWAP staff in response to assistance requests from state, local and federal government agencies and from advocates and attorneys across the country;
  • Update NIWAP's national state by state directory of programs serving immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking;
  • Update NIWAP's national resource library, available at niwaplibrary.wcl.american.edu, track copyright permissions and find new public documents to upload.
The National Immigrant Women's Advocacy Project Law (NIWAP, pronounced new-app) is an experiential learning opportunity at American University Washington College of Law. NIWAP's work benefits immigrant women, children, and immigrant survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes. We are a national provider of training, legal and social science research, policy development, and technical assistance to advocates, attorneys, pro bono law firms, law schools, universities, law enforcement, prosecutors, social service and health care providers, justice system personnel, and other professionals who work with immigrant women, children and crime victims.

Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse is offering a one year position (with the possibility of extension) as a Project Coordinator in the Education and Training Program, with specific emphasis on a project the agency is undertaking with the Canadian Sikh Network. Although employed by CCASA this dynamic individual will also report to the Project Advisory Committee and will be accountable to a project plan that focuses on four areas related to addressing sexual abuse and sexual assault in ethnic communities: 1) increasing community engagement; 2) increasing awareness; 3) building capacity for safe healing; and 4) prevention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Undertaking a formal and informal literature review and service scan related to the project
  • Community development and outreach within the Sikh and other communities in Calgary
  • Program development of new programs or adapting existing programs to meet Sikh community needs
  • Public speaking to children, youth and adult groups
  • Crisis intervention and advocacy within the medical, legal, and social service systems

DESCRIPTION
The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. RAINN operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and the Online Hotline at rainn.org and publicizes the hotline's free, confidential services; educates the public about sexual assault; and leads national efforts to prevent sexual assault, improve services to survivors and ensure that rapists are brought to justice. The DoD Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) launched the DoD Safe Helpline, operated by RAINN, which focuses on serving the DoD community.
The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network has openings for Safe Helpline staffer positions. All hotline shifts will be completed from our office in downtown DC
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer crisis calls routed through online and telephone Safe Helpline services
- Provide compassionate and accurate crisis support and referral services to the DoD community
- Knowledgeable on eligibility requirements for Veteran Affairs
- Utilize crisis intervention best practices including safety planning, brainstorming and listening skills
- Enter non-personally identifying call information into helpline database
- Complete end of shift reports
- Working at least two holidays a year
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess excellent communications skills (both oral and written)
- Must be familiar with instant messaging
- Must have basic computer and database proficiency
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to attend an in-person training
- Must be comfortable discussing issues surrounding sexual violence
- Must pass a criminal background check (administered by RAINN)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Veterans, prior Veterans Affairs employees, and prior MST Coordinators will be given priority
- Crisis hotline/intervention experience
- Bachelors degree in social work, psychology or related field

SHIFTS
Part-time staff must be able to take at least 2 shifts a month. Also must be able to attend the monthly staff meetings.
The shifts are 7am-1pm, 1pm-7pm, 7pm-11pm/8pm-midnight, and 11pm-7am – 7 days a week.

DESCRIPTION
Provides one-to-one and group counselling services using a feminist approach, as outlined in the Stopping the Violence contract, to women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, relationship abuse or recent sexual assault. May conduct a psycho-educational/experiential support group.
Part-time, hourly basis, including evening work.

Reports to: Supervisor, Counselling Services

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES1. Provides intake and assessment to gather case history and other relevant intake information. Identifies and assesses the emotional/behavioural issues that have led the client to seek or be referred to counselling services.
2. Provides professional expertise in assisting client to establish appropriate treatment goals and treatment plan for counselling. Uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to assist client in obtaining goals during course of treatment, paying attention to individual clients' needs. Reviews the treatment plan a minimum of every 10 sessions.
3. Ensures that all documents required at each stage of treatment are accurately and thoroughly completed in the time-line required, as indicated in the program manual. Clinical notes must summarize every session and reflect progress toward treatment plan goals. Notes will be dated and signed, and must be legible.
4. Ensures that client satisfaction instruments are incorporated in service and collected upon termination of service i.e. provides follow-up surveys to clients at/after the end of treatment.
5. Provide direct service hours, as specified by the STV contract, for example: one-to-one sessions, group sessions, and screening. The counsellor is responsible for scheduling one-to-one client appointments.
6. Engages in regular, individual or group supervision/consultation sessions with a clinical supervisor, as established by the Supervisor of Counselling Services. Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings (resources permitting) and other agency meetings as required by BFL.
7. Consults with peers and establishes liaison with other community professionals and agencies as required to assist with individual client cases and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources.
8. Participates in various processes necessary to achieve and maintain accreditation, such as, but not limited to, the collection and analysis of data through the ShareVision management information system, and performing continuous quality improvement (CQI) tasks. Submits all reports, service summaries and other documentation requested in a timely manner, as indicated in the program manual.
9. Performs duties in accordance with the guidelines in the STV and ASSA program manuals, and the BFL Personnel Policies.
10. Collaborates with a co-facilitator in conducting groups which may require joint preparation and/or support/supervision of the co-facilitator.
11. Participates in professional development activities in order to stay current in the field of trauma counselling, treatment and interventions, as BFL resources allow.
12. Is responsible for participating in one community event per year in order to represent BFL. Performs other related duties as required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE1. A Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work or equivalent qualifications such as those from registration in a recognized Art Therapy institution. Relevant registration with BCACC.
2. Three years experience working in community-based services providing individual and group counselling services to women who have experienced violence and abuse issues.
3. Strong clinical skills with specialized training, knowledge or skills in trauma recovery.
4. Strong group facilitation skills with experience working in therapeutic settings.

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES1. Demonstrated knowledge and skills using relevant formal counselling and experiential approaches by means of a feminist perspective.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of assessment techniques.
3. Excellent interpersonal behaviour and written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to work independently and within a teach culture with good organization, time and self-management skills.
5. Ability to operate computer/word processing programs and communicate by email.
6. Knowledge of group processes and/or facilitation techniques.
7. Cultural competency with an ability to be culturally sensitive, respectful, confidential and caring when dealing with diverse values, beliefs and lifestyles.
8. Knowledge of community resources desirable.

Basic Function: To provide counseling services to individuals and families who have experienced sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence, domestic violence, and stalking in order to promote long-term healing from the effects of violence and abuse.
Specific Duties
  1. Conduct psychosocial assessments.
  2. Provide on-going counseling and support groups for those who have survived physical and/or sexual abuse.
  3. Lead effective coordination of resources with case management programs in order to ensure comprehensive services that maintain the respect and dignity of each survivor.
  4. Conduct outreach as needed.
  5. Maintain accurate and current records as required by the agency and its funding sources.
  6. Maintain cordial professional relationships with allied professionals. Provide information to agencies and organizations that serve survivors of violence or express interest in receiving information regarding this population.
  7. Complete in a timely fashion all necessary weekly and monthly records that pertain to services provided, time and attendance, travel and workshop reimbursement, continuing education--which is received or provided--and other records deemed appropriate by the organization.
