DESCRIPTION
The Massachusetts National Organization of Women is a multi-issue organization working to achieve equality for men and women. Our six priority issue areas include: 1. Economic Equality, 2. Reproductive Rights, 3. Racial Justice, 4. LGBTQ Issues, 5. Ending Violence Against Women, 6. Ensuring Civil Rights for Everyone. We are looking for a fundraising intern for the fall to assist in planning our two major fundraising events, "I Heart Equal Rights" and "The Feminist Affair". The fundraising intern will work closely with Mass. NOW's Policy and Operations Manager, as well as the Planning Committees for each function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Soliciting donors for The Feminist Affair •Planning a full and varied silent auction for The Feminist Affair •Coordinating outreach to young Massachusetts feminists for The Feminist Affair's "Feminism in Action Grant" •Working closely with the I Heart Equal Rights Planning Committee to plan and execute a successful event
Successful candidates will have:
•A strong interest in women's issues and social justice •Strong organizational skills •Excellent writing and communication skills •Experience in fundraising is a plus
