DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time Medical Assistant position that floats between Seattle, West Seattle, and Kent. The schedule is variable depending on the location and may include days or evening shifts, Mondays through Saturdays.
One to two years experience in a medical setting, HCA-E certification, a valid driver's license, and a high school diploma or equivalent are required. Women's health care experience and EHR experience preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision and direction of a designated health center manger, provides support to staff and clients by performing with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of tasks in the front desk and back office provides support to staff and clients by performing, with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of tasks in the front desk and back office areas of the health center, works in multiple health centers in assigned area, and incorporates those functions into the overall operations of the agency.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
Performs tasks at the Front Desk including, but not limited to, checking patients in and out; selling supplies; answering phones; quoting fees; ordering and maintaining supplies; and a variety of clerical tasks.
Conducts initial procedures for patients at front desk; completes supply sales, assists in data collections.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtains revenue by recording and updating, financial information; recording and collecting patient payments; controlling credit extended to patients.
Transfers medical records, interoffice and other medical facilities per PPGNW policies.
Opens and closes the Front Desk and counts daily receipts.
Back Office Responsibilities:
Performs tasks at the Nurses Station including, but not limited to, preparing exam rooms, taking clients to exam rooms, assisting the clinician, performing lab tests, ordering and maintaining supplies, maintaining logs and manuals, and a variety of tasks which require demonstrating a knowledge of universal precautions, sterile technique and hazardous waste disposal. Ability to obtain a HCA license may be required.
Performs laboratory intake (height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis, hemoglobin, venipuncture, etc.)
Opens and closes lab/back office area.
Cleans and stocks lab and exam rooms.
Performs lab tests and lab specimens in compliance with lab and agency protocols and procedures.
Assists clinicians and doctors during surgical procedures.
