IESC is seeking gender and youth advisors for upcoming USAID-funded programs in Egypt. These programs are anticipated to address a number of topics related to economic including MSME development, facilitating entrepreneurship, improved business enabling environments, and inclusive value chain development in both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.

IESC – the International Executive Service Corps – is a US based not-for-profit with a focus on supporting private enterprise in developing countries. We have worked in 130 countries – mainly with the generous support of USAID – designing, implementing, managing and evaluating a wide range of market-driven solutions.
IESC is seeking gender and youth advisors for upcoming USAID-funded programs in Egypt. These programs are anticipated to address a number of topics related to economic including MSME development, facilitating entrepreneurship, improved business enabling environments, and inclusive value chain development in both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors. Engagements could range from short and intermittent to long-term positions based in Egypt.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all gender and youth activities;
  • Develop gender and youth strategies that align with program goals of greater participation in business, economic activities, and higher levels of employment and income;
  • Ensure program activities’ design and development address both needs of women and youth as well as other stakeholder and beneficiary interests;
  • Ensure that training opportunities are accessible to women and youth;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reports, work-plans, and success stories as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, gender, or similar required; advanced degree strongly preferred;
  • Minimum five years of experience in programming for women’s development, gender or youth in an international development context;
  • Background in women’s/gender and youth issues related to employment, business start-ups and ownership in Egypt or similar environment;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data collection and analysis;
  • Experience working on USAID funded projects strongly preferred;
  • Experience working in Middle East or North Africa preferred;
  • English fluency required; proficient Arabic desirable.
