Job Title: Development Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
The Women's Lunch Place provides day shelter services dedicated to improving the quality of life for women and children who are homeless and poor.
Position Summary: The Development Manager will primarily: (1) Manage all publications and communications materials; (2) Manage and oversee all external and special events; (3) Perform data tracking and analysis for communications and events.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communications and Outreach Strategy: Develop long-term strategy for communications
- Event Management: Manage and oversee WLP's major special events including the fall and spring benefits; coordinate third-party events; work closely with volunteer event committees
- Digital Media: Oversee all digital media development, including updating WLP's website, creating e-newsletter, tracking statistics, and maintaining the organization's presence on social media sites
- Conduct outreach to increase participation in events
- Print Publications: Develop and manage the production of all print collateral and marketing material for WLP, including brochures, case statements, newsletters, and annual reports
- Photography and Video: Maintain and Develop the organization's photo and video resources
- Content Development: Work with staff, volunteers, and guests to develop robust stories for all media
Other Responsibilities:
- Share in the day-to-day operations of the organization as it relates to the duties of the position or as in the normal course of the running of the office as do other staff members (i.e., special projects, conferences, logistics, etc.)
Skills and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is required
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Capable of working independently and as a team
- Proficiency in: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign, Raiser's Edge, Drupal
- Desktop publishing/graphic design skills desirable
- Knowledge of social media and web content management systems necessary
- Proven research skills, including the Internet and other resources
- Interest in and commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations
- Strong organizational abilities with high attention to detail
- A good work ethic and desire to get the job done
- Ability to be a self-organizer
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising of similar complexity and responsibility
Compensation:
