JOB SUMMARY
The Foundation Relations Coordinator assists the Director of Institutional Giving in meeting Development Department revenue goals and in creating and stewarding Development Department relationships. The Coordinator is responsible for identifying funding opportunities from private foundations, writing grants/reports and conducting research required to submit appropriate grant proposals and reports. In addition, the Coordinator will help streamline the grants and reports management processes through organization, research, filing, and other administrative tasks related to the grants process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) In collaboration with and under supervision of Director of Institutional Giving, assist in all aspects of increasing the number of excellent funding requests submitted to private foundations, from identifying funding opportunities to writing drafts and helping to manage grant reporting;
2) Manage a portfolio of grant relationships and be responsible for a revenue goal;
3) Compile and maintain up-to-date language regarding the Center and Center programs;
4) Develop and maintain collections of current research, statistics, and citations regarding the populations served by the Center for use in grant submissions and other Development communications;
5) Create, organize and maintain grant attachments for easy access and usability;
6) Assist in maintaining a timeline for all grant applications and necessary reports;
7) Assist with the process of supplying progress reports to grant-making organizations;
8) Input and maintain accurate foundation information in Raiser's Edge;
9) Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
2) Strong sense of teamwork and commitment to achieving department goals and organizational mission;
3) Demonstrated success developing corporate and foundation grant proposals;
4) Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities with competing deadlines;
5) Exceptional writing, communication and diplomacy skills;
6) Strong research, analytical and planning skills;
7) Quick study.
JOB EXPERIENCE:
1) 3-4 years fundraising / grant writing experience preferred;
2) Excellent customer service and phone experience;
3) Experience using Raiser's Edge, PowerPoint, Word and Excel a plus.
