A national non-profit organization founded in 1995, the Jewish Women's Archive (JWA) makes known the stories, struggles, and achievements of Jewish women in North America in order to enrich the way we understand the past and ensure a more inclusive future. Its website draws more than 1.2 million unique visitors annually. A diverse staff of 10 FTE's work in a pleasant Brookline neighborhood with easy access to public transportation and affordable parking. Office atmosphere is lively, friendly, and collegial. Flexible schedule with some telecommuting possible.
Position Summary:
JWA seeks a thought leader who combines a deep knowledge of online marketing with a sophisticated understanding of digital technology.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of JWA's digital strategy.
- Set and monitor standards for the JWA website; spearhead discussion of technical requirements, usability, and site architecture, and oversee any redesigns of the website.
- Develop and implement plan for care of JWA's digital assets.
- Advise the organization on the best use of social media, blogs, and other channels.
- Oversee day-to-day operation of the website.
- Administer all technology platforms.
- Supervise Web Developer.
- Train other non-technical staff as needed in the use of the CMS and email client (Blue State Digital).
- Prepare and manage budgets for hardware, software, and storage.
- Manage all third-party relationships with outside vendors related to technology.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum five years of experience in digital marketing and IT management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating social media strategies.
- Substantial project management experience and an ability to juggle multiple projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and attentiveness to detail.
- Prior experience managing day-to-day website operations, Web developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships within the organization and with external partners and vendors.
- Knowledge of network and server operations.
