Dress for Success Worldwide -West is seeking an energetic individual as the full-time Program Coordinator to assist as we grow the Los Angeles office. This position carries with it the opportunity to make a noticeable and lasting impact on Los Angeles workforce development and on the lives of the disadvantaged women we serve. It also offers a unique opportunity to be a part of a well-known international organization and a growing regional staff team. This position reports directly to the Hollywood Branch Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
GOING PLACES NETWORK
  • Responsible for the direct management, including recruitment and training of speakers, organization of session materials and logistics,of the Going Places Network (GPN) by Wal-Mart
  • Facilitate a minimum of three GPN cohorts each year
  • Recruit, support and graduate a minimum of 20 women per cohort
  • Recruit, train and supervise GPN volunteers and peer mentors
  • Recruit, train and manage corporate program partners—who serve as GPN speakers
  • Lead data collection, program planning and evaluations, outcome measurement, reporting and program reports and analysis for each cohort.
  • Participate in monthly GPN affiliate conference calls and in-service trainings
PROFESSIONAL WOMEN'S GROUP
  • Direct, plan and carryout the Professional Women's Group (PWG), our networking program for employed clients seeking to enhance their careers
  • Facilitate monthly, evening PWG meetings (must be available the second Tuesday evening of each month)
  • Recruiting, training and supervising volunteers and corporate partners serving as PWG speakers
  • Assist with data collection, program planning and evaluations, outcome measurement, reporting, and program reports and analysis
  • Participate in quarterly affiliate conference calls and in-service trainings
  • Cultivate a strong curriculum in consultation with PWG members
  • Assist with development and implementation of Associate PWG for Hollywood Branch in 2013
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
  • Assist with greeting clients at their appointments
  • Answer phones and schedule client appointments
  • Other duties as assigned
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
  • Strategically recruit volunteers with specific skills to fill programmatic needs
  • Assist with client suiting appointments, as needed
  • Generates reports on recruitment, retention and number of volunteer hours for programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required, professional experience in a not-for-profit organization preferred
  • Passion for helping women succeed in the workplace
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and interest in building strong programs as part of a global organization
  • Prior professional program management and direct client services experience a plus
  • Knowledge of the latest practices and trends in all aspects of job search and retention – cover letter and resume writing, mock interviews, social media networking, etc.
  • Experience managing and also working with volunteers
  • Team player with the ability to take initiative and also work independently
  • Professional demeanor, appearance and attitude
  • Experience working with a diverse demographic
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Diligent, organized, accurate and detailed-oriented
  • Public speaking and/or training experience essential
  • Database management
  • MS Excel, MS Word, Internet and Email skills are required; MS Access a plus
  • Excellent written and presentation skills
SPECIFICS:
  • The full-time position is based in Hollywood, CA
  • Hours are Monday through Friday, evenings required on occasion
  • Salary based on experience with generous benefit package
  • Position to begin February 2013
