In the model of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), the activities we do in Girl Scouts and the way that we do them result in outcomes that empower girls to become leaders. Girls can participate in Girl Scouts in a number of ways: As part of a troop, attending a series of programs, events or even travel! Volunteers can support the development of these future leaders either directly or by supporting other volunteers.
Girl Scouts of Western Washington (www.girlscoutsww.org) is currently seeking a Regional Director to direct and oversee the implementation of an integrated strategy of regional programming, recruitment, volunteer support and retention in King County. They oversee a cross-functional team that ensures that Girl Scouts is marketed and accessible to girls and adult volunteers. The Regional Director ensures that Girl Scouts offers fulfilling, fun, and flexible experiences for the diverse communities of girls and volunteers in King County.
This is a full-time, exempt position with an excellent health benefits package and generous paid leave.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary
Responsible for leading a team that will ensure participating Girl Scouts experience quality program based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). The program and quality should support the organization's strategic plan and program initiatives, and when possible link to National Program Portfolio, such as Journeys.
Responsible for implementing and overseeing the organization's recruitment plans and volunteer support to troops and other girl programs that achieves the annual goals in the region.
Direct the on-going development and delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) regional programming to members; by utilizing community input and volunteer participation that strengthens girl centric programming that provides flexible options for participation.
Supervise assigned staff. Recruit, interview, hire, provide training, and development as appropriate, evaluate, counsel, provide conflict management and discipline as needed, and terminate if necessary. Provide regular one-on-one meetings with staff to ensure goal achievement and timely support to volunteers, conduct staff team meetings. Support staff retention and professional growth.
Actively collaborate with other departments. Engage in open-dialogue, continuous learning, and timely follow-up action.
Provide and ensure superior customer service is delivered through interactive and timely communication with internal and external customers, Girl Scout members and families, co-workers, and community members and contacts. One of the key measurements of successful Girl Scout customer service includes the timely placement of girls and volunteers into troops or other programs.
Create and manage the regional budget that supports the region's goals and work plans.
Direct, advise and coach staff in the managing of volunteer conflicts. Interceding to mediation, when required. Consult and update Vice President of Membership or others, as necessary.
Secondary
Assist Fund Development staff in the identification and cultivation of key volunteers, donors and corporations that strengthens community partnerships that are mission-aligned.
Place a high priority on building relationships within targeted communities, by becoming actively involved and knowledgeable of our diverse racial and ethnic communities. Support the development of cultural competency in staff.
In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Girl Scouts is for every girl and we are committed to serving girls who face sometimes overwhelming obstacles through programs such as Girl Scouts Beyond Bars, serving the daughters of women in prison, Girl Scouts Fostering A Future, serving girls who are in foster care, Girl Scouting in the School Day meeting with girls in area elementary and middle schools and Skills For Life, serving girls in low income housing communities, many of whom are new to this country. We currently serve over 26,000 girls in partnership with nearly 13,000 volunteers throughout seventeen counties in western Washington. In addition to our headquarters, we operate field offices located in Bellevue, Bremerton, DuPont and Marysville, as well as six camp properties: Camp Lyle Mcleod and Camp St. Albans near Belfair, Camp Robbinswold on the Hood Canal, Camp Evergreen near Longview, Camp Klahanee near Hoquiam and Camp River Ranch, near Carnation.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- Minimum three years' experience successfully managing or supporting volunteers in direct or indirect program delivery.
- Minimum four years' experience supervising employees.
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of youth development strongly preferred.
- Experience in development and administration of budgets and work plans.
- Excellent customer experience/service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to be able to work with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience successfully working with a variety of racial and ethnic groups strongly preferred.
- Previous work experience utilizing conflict resolution skills.
- Availability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary.
- Ability and willingness to work remotely or from a home office, on occasion.
- Skilled in Outlook, Word and Excel, and familiarity with Access or other database system.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritizes deadlines, work independently, take initiative, highly organized, and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
- Valid Washington State driver's license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography.
- Satisfactory results from criminal background search.
- Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts.
